Liga MB top team -Metapan (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Cojute (4-11) in Cojutepeque 82-64 . They outrebounded Cojute 47-33 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Center Brayan Garcia (200-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican guard Hector Maldonado (185-1991, agency: DON TECA SPORTS CONNECTION) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Troidell Carter (206-1991, college: Slippery Rock) added 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Metapan have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Cojute lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost.
